The following principles guide our programming process and artistic intentions:

1.     Brand new adaptations of classic fiction

2.     Plays with live original music and/or actor musicians

3.     Theatre that explores unheard stories or perspectives

4.     Rural and regional touring

5.    Accessible performances for first time audiences

6.    New work that responds progressively to social or political concerns

What we're interested in right now:

1. Stories that champion women's experiences and voices

2. Acting companies that represent the diversity of our society on stage

3. Female led creative teams and artistic leaders

4. Changing the status quo of the theatre industry in either form or content

5. Increasing diversity in within our creative teams and partners

6. Sustainably minded artistry for climate justice

Theatre6 was established in 2009 and has consistently created work of artistic excellence and is now a multi award winning company. Theatre6 won a Stage One Award for its touring production of 'Gabriel' staring Paul McGann and Belinda Lang. We are currently the winner of the Evening Standard Award for Best Musical 2014 for The Scottsboro Boys.  In the past we've been nominated for Off West End Awards, Time Out Fringe Show of the Year and received Time Out Critic's Choice. In 2011 we were 'No.2' in London's '5 Best Shows'.

Our Collective of 6 theatre makers -

When our company was founded, the name 'Theatre6' existed to bring together 6 newly-graduated artists to adapt and produce a new version of Dostoyevsky's 'The Double'. Since then we've grown and expanded. Our current collective of 6 are made up of both artists who have been with us from the beginning and new collaborators. As theatre changes, we keep changing too. A special mention goes to Heather Gibbs who helped to produce, fundraise for and act in

Theatre6's first shows.

Theatre6 are a member of The National Rural Touring Forum (NRTF):
